Academy and MAT Visioning Sessions

Academy and MAT vision

The SDSA works with school leaders and governors to establish the vision and rationale for their potential conversion to academy status or to join or form Multi Academy Trusts (MAT).

The SDSA's approach is to co-design and then provide the support required by the enquiring schools. Tailored programmes of workshops and facilitated events are provided to progress their thinking. The SDSA does not provide legal expertise about the technicalities of conversion, but works on the educational vision and community thinking that enables schools to express and formulate their compelling narrative and rationale for change in status. These support packages have included work with individual governing bodies and leadership teams, groups of schools looking to potentially convert and form a MAT together, as well as pre-existing MATs who need to revisit their vision statement.

SDSA's Role

The SDSA's role is to work as facilitator for the schools involved to design with them and support the delivery of a programme of workshops to achieve the desired outcomes.

Project Impact

All sessions have been evaluated in the most positive terms and have made significant contribution to the knowledge and understanding of is involved to enable them to form relevant strategy.
