School Linking

  School Linking ii

Although there is no longer a formal duty for schools to promote community cohesion, evidence suggests that children and young people can benefit from meaningful interaction if they have an opportunity to mix and learn with, from and about other children and young people from different backgrounds.

SDSA's Role

The SDSA offers to find a partner school that meets your requirements and will work with you to develop and manage a tailored programme of meetings and activities.  We can also provide resources, organise venues for meetings and deliver CPD for teachers and senior managers.

Project Impact

The SDSA has seven years experience of working with and supporting schools through a linking process to provide a series of curriculum-based activities whereby children and young people’s understanding of community and diversity is enriched through meeting and shared activities with those from another school in a different area.  Feedback is always extremely positive.
