Raising Achievement Project

Raising Achievement Project

Students taking part in the project attend 10 weekly sessions delivered by an experienced English teacher who is supported by a learning mentor. The role of the latter is to support learning in the classroom but also includes one-to-one sessions to identify and explore ways of managing and overcoming non-academic barriers to achievement.

SDSA's Role

Students who take part in the project will, ideally, be those who achieved a L3 for their KS2 English SAT, against an expected L4. 10 students can be accommodated.

Project Impact

Those taking part in the project see improvements in their reading and writing and also develop increased self esteem and confidence.
